GENDER AND WRITING END OF SEMESTER EXAMS
The exam will be in two section.
Section A will be short answers only
section B will be essay writing. Students will write two essays. The questions will cover all the texts.
The end of semester exam is made up of two sections.
Sections 1 is made up of 20 objective questions which will be answered by all candidates. This will cover all the units (units 1-6).
Section 2 is made up of 5 essay type questions which candidates will be required to answer 2.
The areas below are for section 2:
- The features of the Arabs in the jahiliyyah period.
- The reasons why the Arabs initially refused to accept the message of Prophet Muhammad.
- The contributions of the Rightly Guided Caliphs to Islam.
- The Makkan and Madinan surahs of the Qur’an.
- The Islamic festivals.
The correct structure of the essays is very important. Every essay must have three essential parts:
I suggest that tutors guide the students about how to answer questions. Brevity of discussion should be discouraged and premium will be given to detailed expression and and examination of issues. Students must also be discouraged from chew-and-pour which does not reflect any originality. They should be encouraged to try to express themselves and dig deep into the issues.
For Educational Statistics, there is going to be 20 multiple choice items for the Section A (Part 1).
Out of the 20, there will be 5 questions which students are to provide short answers.
SECTION B or PART 2
There will be four (4) Essay questions that students will be required to answer 2 of them.
GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING.
The objectives of the Guidance and Counselling will cover all units.
The section B will exclude unit 3, which is the approaches. Make sure you have time to study the past questions as well.
